A square, a pixel, a silhouette. Sometimes that's all it takes to recognize an icon. This is the art of MyMuse, a pixel artist from Montpellier, who condenses globally famous or simply inspiring faces into a few pixels and minimal colors. And yet, everything is there.
🧠 The art of the minimum, the impact of the maximum
For several years, MyMuse has been building a gallery of ultra-minimalist portraits, all in pixel art, shared mainly online on her Instagram account. Her playground: celebrities, cult figures, pop, political, musical, and historical personalities. Her challenge: to summarize them in a handful of pixels.
And the result is stunning. A haircut, a color contrast, a posture... In a few dots, she manages to bring forth an entire personality, like a visual memory etched in our collective imagination.

📱 2000 faces and counting, all in pixel
With over 2000 portraits created, MyMuse draws an immense contemporary fresco made of cross-references. We encounter Frida Kahlo, David Bowie, Eleven, Prince, Freddie Mercury, Beyoncé, Harry Potter, Simone Veil, and many others.
Each work is both a tribute and an exercise in style, a subtle balance between abstraction and immediate recognition. She regularly posts these creations on her Instagram account, like a living, personal, and generous online museum.

🚶♀️ From digital to the street: pasting to make people smile
While her work primarily exists in the digital realm, MyMuse doesn't shy away from real-life appearances. From time to time, she pastes her portraits in the street, often in Montpellier, like little signs of pixelated life that sprinkle walls with familiar references.

✨ Pixel’s not dead
With her pixelated portraits, MyMuse restores pixel art to its former glory, often relegated to retro video games. Here, the pixel becomes poetic, political, playful, feminine, and contemporary.
And as she herself says, with humor and determination:
"One day I will pixelate the entire planet. Pixel's not dead."
