Zero Carbon Commitments

♻️ Eco-responsible

Our Commitments

Let's be honest: manufacturing and delivering products has an impact. But at Pixel Corner, we try to do things right. Here's a glimpse of how we do it 🌱

Made in France 🇫🇷

All our kits are hand-assembled in our workshop in Saint-Ouen. We receive an order, prepare the kit specially for you, and voilà — carefully packaged.

Our boxes? Made in the south of France. Our prints (instructions, flyers, etc.)? Printed in France, preferably on recycled paper. In short, we prioritize local production whenever we can.

Why is this important? Because it reduces transportation, supports the local economy, and most importantly, it allows us to control quality from start to finish.

Durable Materials ♻️

We use recycled glass for our mosaic tiles. Not cheap plastic that will yellow in 6 months — real recycled glass, colored with natural pigments (minerals, basically).

The result? Tiles with intense colors, a smooth and pleasant texture, and most importantly: they last over time. Whether you display your creation indoors or outdoors, it will withstand the test of time.

Responsible Packaging 📦

All our packaging is FSC certified (Forest Stewardship Council). What does that mean? That the cardboard comes from responsibly managed forests. No wild deforestation for our boxes.

And of course, everything is recyclable. Once you've assembled your mosaic, the box can be reused as a pencil pot or goes into recycling. Basic, Simple.

Carbon-Neutral Delivery 🌍

Here's the thing: even with local production, delivering packages emits CO₂. We can't avoid it. But we can offset it.

How does it work? For each order, we calculate the emissions related to transport (weight, distance, all that). Then, we donate a portion of our revenue to carbon removal companies selected by Carbon Direct, a reputable scientific NGO.

These companies use this money to capture and store CO₂. The result: your deliveries are carbon neutral. It doesn't solve all the world's problems, but it's a start.

Since September 2023, we have offset:

3,123 kg of CO₂

That's equivalent to 12,863 km by car, or 398,171 charged smartphones. Not bad, right?

Projects We Support 🔬

Specifically, our money goes to CO₂ capture and storage technologies. Here are some examples of the companies we fund:

Grassroots Carbon

They work directly with farmers to capture carbon in soils. By changing certain agricultural practices (regenerative farming, cover cropping, etc.), soils become natural carbon sinks.

CarbonCure

They inject captured CO₂ directly into concrete during its manufacturing. The CO₂ mineralizes and remains trapped in the concrete forever. Clever: it reduces emissions AND improves concrete strength.

Pachama

They use satellites and AI to monitor and protect forests. Their mission: to verify that reforestation projects deliver on their promises and that trees actually capture CO₂. No greenwashing, just verifiable data.

Planetary Technologies

They use the ocean to capture CO₂. By adding alkaline minerals to seawater, they accelerate the ocean's natural ability to absorb and store carbon. A promising oceanic approach.

Heirloom

They accelerate the natural process of carbon mineralization. Basically, they use minerals to capture CO₂ from the air much faster than in nature.

Remora

They capture CO₂ directly from truck exhaust pipes while they are driving. The CO₂ is compressed and stored long-term. Clever.

Charm Industrial

They recover plant waste, extract CO₂ from it, convert it into a stable liquid, and inject it deep underground. Out of reach of fires and erosion.
